Dear Neighbor:
We are glad you found your way to our website. Our church is a spiritual home for Christians of all ages, races, and circumstances. Together, we are a welcoming family of faith in Jesus Christ. God is at work at Briarwood Presbyterian Church! We want to be useful in God’s service. We are a mission-oriented congregation. Our local mission efforts are focused on caring for the poor in the metro-Jackson area, but we support mission work all around the world. I invite you to join us this Sunday at 10:25 a.m. Our hope, our expectation is that you will meet God in our sanctuary and be encouraged and strengthened to live out your Christian faith.

Worship Services at Briarwood are at 10:25 a.m. on Sundays and are centered on the Bible, timely and meaningful sermons, anthems, congregational singing, prayers, and good music. Children are invited to participate in “Young Disciples Time” which occurs near the beginning of the service. A nursery is provided for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers
Special Events
The Lord’s Supper is commemorated and celebrated at a minimum of once a month. During the year at various times there are weeknight worship services, such as during the Advent and Lenten Seasons.
We follow the seasons of the Church year at Briarwood. The Church’s calendar begins in with Advent which celebrates the promise of Christ’s return. Advent last for four weeks. The twelve days of Christmas follow during which we celebrate the incarnation of God in Jesus Christ. The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and continues for forty days, concluding on Good Friday. Lent is a time for self-examination, repentance, and positive personal change. Easter is celebrated for seven Sundays beginning with Easter Sunday morning. This season celebrates Christ’s victory of sin, death, and evil. Ordinary time is the longest season of the church year. It begins on Pentecost Sunday and emphasizes growing in faith, hope, and love.
Youth Programs
At Briarwood Presbyterian Church we have Sunday school classes for Preschool, Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High Youth. On Wednesday nights our Children’s ministries have programs for elementary age children and our Junior and Senior High youth meet for Bible study and discussion.
