Youth Programs

There are a variety of youth programs going on at Briarwood aimed at creating genuine Christian community and helping disciples to grow in love, obedience, and service to Christ and neighbor.

Sunday School

Christian Education is an important part of our life at Briarwood. We offer classes for preschool, elementary school, and middle school age youth.

  • Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten
  • Elementary School -Grades 1-5
  • Middle School (6-8)

Children’s Activities

Children are God’s messengers to the world. Humble and desiring knowledge, they listen, learn, and speak the truth of God’s love for all. As we continue to nurture and guide our children in the Christian life, we must fulfill our vows to God by bringing up our children in the Church and other activities. There is no better place to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord than Briarwood Presbyterian Church.

We support the development of biblical understanding through our Sunday School classes. We study the life of biblical characters and the fundamentals of the faith.

During the summers we explore the Bible through our Tuesday Kids program. We go out into the community for service and recreation, and in the process we practice Christian faith and values.

God has always blessed children. Jesus never turned away a child. He said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not.” We invite you to come and join our children’s programs.

Youth

The Youth at Briarwood are currently few in number, but they are very important to us.

We include a time for young disciples during our worship each Sunday. Our older youth help to lead worship periodically. Some sing in the choir and others help with running our sound system. We hold Vacation Bible School for our whole family of faith each year, and we have intergenerational mission activities like “Rise Against Hunger” where we package ten thousand meals for hungry people in Latin America.
